I've noticed a lot of senior-aimed health and personal finance shows on PBS over the last couple years that appear to be absolute crap. I just want decent shows back, really, but it would be better if they weren't duping the elderly with false science too.
Quoted: By airing another self-help show disguised as medical science -- the dubious "UltraMind Solution" -- the public network continues to undermine its credibility.

We'll see how well the League buries this story. In response to a question for this article, one NFL VP pointed out that Gerald Ford played football and did not die from brain damage. Um, yeah, but about these 6 dead NFL veterans...
Quoted: doctors have now identified C.T.E. in all six N.F.L. veterans between the ages of 36 and 50 who have been tested for the condition, further evidencing the dangers of improperly treated brain trauma in football.
Quoted: “I think with a sixth case identified, out of six, for a condition that is incredibly rare in the general population, there is more than enough evidence that football is clearly strongly related to the presence of this pathology.”

Once again we see the medical profession involved in gross impositions and horrible acts against the population. Kudos to Sen. Grassley for outing these charlatans. The specific instances of on-air favors in this case are ridiculous.
Quoted: An influential psychiatrist who served as the host of public radio’s popular “The Infinite Mind” program earned at least $1.3 million between 2000 and 2007 giving marketing lectures for drug makers, income not mentioned on the program.

Quoted: “The extensive body of scientific research now available consistently indicates that ’Gulf War illness’ is real, that it is the result of neurotoxic exposures during Gulf War deployment, and that few veterans have recovered or substantially improved with time,” said the report, being released Monday by a panel of scientists and veterans.

I saw this story on BBC and didn't realize that MSU was involved in the discovery. Maybe the law college can work Dr. Crippen into its "Innocents" display of inmates exonerated by DNA evidence.
Quoted: Loaded with enough sordid details and twists to eventually fuel more than 40 books and several movies, this London case is second only to Jack the Ripper in its sensational notoriety.
