On the White House - Emanuel at the Epicenter - Then and Now - NYTimes.com

Going to have to check this one out.

Quoted: “HouseQuake,” a new film on the 2006 midterm elections, features Rahm Emanuel, as relentless a campaigner as he is a White House chief of staff.

Quoted: “I said, ‘How much time do I spend away from my family?”‘ Mr. Shuler recalls on camera. “‘Oh,’ he said, “it’s not as bad as you may think.’ So he decides to start calling. ‘Heath, I’m just calling to say I’m on my way to school to take my kids.’ ‘Heath, I’m on way now back to school I think I’m going to eat lunch with the kids today.’ ‘Heath, just letting you know I’m picking up my kids from school.’ ‘Hey, we’re going to soccer practice, we’re going to recital.’ He did this for two solid weeks.”

    A Heck of a Long-Distance Calling Plan - washingtonpost.com

I want a call from space if any of you ever vacation there. Andras Simonyi is, of course, more famous for being one of Stephen Colbert's most charming guests.

Quoted: Andras Simonyi, the ambassador from Hungary, was walking down Massachusetts Avenue Saturday when his cellphone rang. "Hi Andras," said the caller, "this is Charles." As in Charles Simonyi -- the Hungarian American billionaire who bought a seat on a Russian rocket. He was calling from the international space station.

    Coffee Break - washingtonpost.com

Quoted: Once a lawyer, he plans to work for a public interest law firm. But one of his many goals is to force Starbucks to put him back on the payroll. So if all goes according to plan, in a few months Gross will be a rather exotic specimen in the labor market -- a barista with a law degree.

ABC News obtains Palfrey's records / Phone lists given 'unconditionally'

Quoted: [DC Madame] Palfrey originally threatened to sell those records to pay for her defense, but a judge barred her from doing so.

So she gave the list of clients away for free....hahhaha. I really hope that judge's name is on the list. This could get interesting.

Again, sorry for Wonkette's crassness. But I think they have some pretty great takes once in awhile. I guess all my "geeky fanboy love" for Obama might not be warranted. But the antichrist accusations seem equally undeserved.

Quoted: He’s just a politician who hasn’t been caught yet.

(I still think he's fully capable of winning in '08, provided there aren't a lot of skeletons in the closet. The rumors are inevitable - hide your daughters, etc.)
