Somewhat validated rumors about Apple products:
- current sales of the ipod touch
- expected timeline of the iphone 3g
- expected release of the new sub-notebook with flash memoryQuoted: A very good source of mine with good connections to Apple's Asian manufacturing partners called me this morning with some news: Seems like Apple will be making headlines in the next few weeks and months with some of its hottest products: the iPod Touch, the iPhone and a new ultra-portable laptop.

It looks like Slingbox is delivering Slingplayer to the iPhone (and possibly the iPod touch) with the new forthcoming iPhone SDK. This will be amazing once the iPhone gets 3g later in the year.

Great mac computer idea on Popular Mechanics. The only thing that looks really clunky to me is the portability in the tablet mode that they show. It just looks silly.

I hope this shot of the rumored new Apple sub-notebook is true. It looks to have a giant trackpad and an ultra-thin form factor. Couple that with flash memory and they'll have a great machine.

If it's true that Apple releases an ultra-compact notebook with flash memory, LED lighting, and a 50% reduction in weight in January, I will be very happy. Sometimes MacWorld cannot come quickly enough.
Quoted: While pricer than CCFLs, LED-backlit panels offer increased color saturation and are more efficient at distributing light evenly across the entire display surface. They also consume less power, run cooler, and last longer than CCFL-backlit displays. When combined with on-board NAND flash drives -- which contain no moving parts and therefore also draw less power -- the technology is expected to translate into significant improvements in battery performance as employed in the new notebook design.

Uhhh, if somebody at Asus just spilled the beans on a collaboration with Apple on atablet PC, I would guess that there will be repercussions for Asus or at least the person responsible for the leak. Apple has a habit of not liking secrets leaked.
Quoted: We checked back with our source at Asus on a different day and they confirmed that the Apple Tablet will not be based on existing Asus designs such as the R1. It will come from a completely new blueprint, possibly based on the patent Apple filed back in May 2005. We're guessing it'll be based on Intel Core architecture, a tweaked version of Leopard, and have all the multi-touch, CoverFlow goodness we've seen in the iPhone and iPod touch.
