Amazon.com has launched their new Question Service called Askville. It's supposed to compete with Yahoo Answers with some noted differences:
- Answers are not public until 5 have been received and the best among them has been chosen.
This should yield higher quality interactions than on Yahoo Answers, which I have used several times and found to be a bit young, hasty, snarky and not terribly helpful. It will be interesting to see if they get enough traffic to actually make this work. My concern is that there will be a lot of questions with not so many answers...
