I read the entire book last night and this morning and think it's great! While it feels a touch steep to sell a digital download for $19.95 of a sparse page tome (that you can't share with anyone), the value is in the content itself, and in this regard, I can't think of any passionate developer or internet company that would not agree with what's written here...
I would strongly suggest getting the group edition in your workplace if you expect more than 3 people to read it.
Tangentially, the book also gives you a formula for how 37signals continues to gain success with simple web applications.
The Dotted link takes you to the main page and gives you access to 4 free chapters. Try it out for yourself!
Quoted: Getting Real, the book, details the business, design, programming, and marketing concepts and methodologies of 37signals. The book is packed with keep-it-simple insights, contrarian points of view, and unconventional approaches to software design and development.

eric | Shared With: Everyone - Mar 19 2007 | search, spam, research, pdf, microsoftThis is the newly published Microsoft research paper on redirection spam. It is intended so that "[search engines can] strengthen their ranking algorithms against spam, for legitimate website owners to locate and remove spam doorway pages, and for legitimate advertisers to identify unscrupulous syndicators who serve ads on spam pages."
The process for detection is fairly laborious and involved, involving submission of batched URLs to a spam verification service.

This looks to be an interesting manifesto by Bill Taylor, a co-founder of Fast Company, and somebody named Polly LaBarre. It's a "Manifesto for Mavericks" and I want to read it later.

This is the posted PDF declassified summary of the findings of the National Intelligence Estimate. <sarcasm>Oddly, they've discovered that the "war on terror is inflaming more anti-American jihadist interest. Hmmm. That's strange. I thought proactive war was a great idea and that they would welcome us as liberators.</sarcasm>
Bush is angry about this report, pointing to its timing as an election time shenanigan.
