Anybody else pissed about this yet? What a farce.
Quoted: "This unfounded assertion of executive privilege does not protect a principle; it protects a person," Waxman said. "If the vice president did nothing wrong, what is there to hide?"

Transcript of Al Gore's speech on Constitutional issues and the current administration's blatant disregard for our government. I just felt like having a refresher course again this morning.

<sarcasm> Color me surprised! You mean the Bush administration would interfere with scientific inquiry for political means? Nooooo....</sarcasm>
Quoted: WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The first U.S. surgeon general appointed by President George W. Bush accused the administration on Tuesday of political interference and muzzling him on key issues like embryonic stem cell research.

Grrrrrr. Every move this president makes is designed to infuriate me (as well as any fan of checks and balances).
Quoted: President Bush spared former White House aide I. Lewis ''Scooter'' Libby from a 2 1/2-year prison term on Monday, issuing an order that commutes his sentence.

A stunning and very worthy piece by Bill Moyers on media's failure to do it's job on the ramp up to war against Iraq. A very powerful piece if for no other reason to see the level to which Gearoge W. Bush's "press conferences" were scripted - down to the softball questions from reporters.

George W. Bush. War hero. Nobody suffers as much as he and Laura...
Quoted: Did you know that George W. Bush was a war hero? I know that this development comes as a shock and surprise to many progressives who are familiar with Bush's military career, but he received a Vietnam-era Purple Heart award a few weeks ago in the Oval Office. Seriously.

eric | Shared With: Everyone - Nov 08 2006 | news, iraq, George W Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, politics, Robert GatesA lie within a lie within a lie. George W. Bush admits to a room of reporters that he lied to them last week about Donald Rumsfeld staying until the end of his term. His answer is complete hornswoggle and illuminates the regard he holds for the truth (i.e. none). What nice Christian values he has...
Quoted: Today, he announced Rumsfeld is resigning and being replaced by former CIA Director Robert Gates. At the press conference, Bush said that “the only way to answer that question, and get it on to another question, was to give you [the reporters] that answer.” Bush admitted that he had talked to Rumsfeld about resigning and was actively searching for his replacement at the time.

It's not that I'm buying into the terrorist propaganda, Mr. President, it's that I've been listening to our own intelligence. You should try it sometime.
How can Bush still stand up and say absolutely dumb things like the following:
"You do not create terrorism by fighting terrorism."
Um, yes, you can. What do you think would happen if another country sent an occupying force into our country? I doubt we'd sit back and cheer them on. We'd want them gone too, especially after 5 years...
Quoted: President Bush asserted Friday that critics who claim the Iraq war has made America less safe embrace "the enemy's propaganda." He acknowledged setbacks in Afghanistan against a Taliban resurgence but predicted eventual victory.
