Much more detail is coming out on the Amazon download service. It appears that movies will be rentable or purchaseable. If you rent, it will expire at some point. This could be great for travel! Download a video before you leave on your trip or from a hotel room...
It also appears that the player is based on Windows Media Player.

Good thing Apple's store will be here next week. Seems like a missed opportunity for Amazon to have gobbled up Apple users with a much broader selection than it sounds like Apple will have.
