Google has a new offering further driving a wedge into the Microsoft enterprise market. Blue Dot got a bit hooked up on the Microsoft front by having some of our emplyees as alumnus from there. Microsoft has some reasonably priced software for alums starting their own businesses (which is a great idea, btw).
The problem is once you outstrip those first ten licenses on all the products, things start to get more pricey. I just downloaded OpenOffice for my new Mac and I have to say, I really like it so far, and it's FREE! If we were starting over from scratch, I wonder if we'd make all the same software decisions that we have so far? Between Open Office and all the freebie Google apps that have come out, I think startups are getting cheaper by the minute!

Speculation about the forthcoming Google phone. I'm excited to see what they do, especially with HTC as a partner. Google has the oomph to really change things in this industry. It might make sense to strike while all the iPhoners are pissed about the lack of hackability.
Quoted: Quiet Taiwanese company could become Google phone partner.

A very intriguing piece in today's BusinessWeek Online about whether or not Google is too powerful.

A quick one-minute presentation from Larry Page RE: artifical intelligence and our brains. Are we that far off?

The actual article in the "London Times Online." Google is certainly not dodging the question or trying to keep this secret. I still really want to get a Sony Reader.
If only I could navigate my own book library with an ereader and add my titles to carry around digitally, I"d be psyched. You hear that Amazon? You can start by just making available all of those books I've already bought from you...
Quoted: GOOGLE and some of the world’s top publishers are working on plans that they hope could do for books what Apple’s iPod has done for music. The internet search giant is working on a system that would allow readers to download entire books

I'd really like to be able to get ANY book on a reader device and bypass the whole wasteful paper thing. If this CNet post is true, Google is working n making this closer to happening.

This is pretty funny. Belgian news sites complained about Google deep-linking to their pages (not bringing users in through their gateways) and sued saying that Google was causing them damage. What did Google do in response? Removed all of their links entirely! Take that you Belgian freaks! How dumb can you be? Is it a problm for users to be referred to your site?
