his content is great, but i find it so hard to listen to him given the tone is somewhat dull. and why is it called "special comment" .. how about something a little less presumptious and formal - like "my take..." ?

    • brent.meyer - Sep 26 2006

Keith doesn't always have these extended commentaries on every show (he's on every day), but when he does, they are indeed quite special. Therefore, "special comment" doesn't seem--to me, at least--presumptuous in the least.

Also, it's his show, he can call his commentary whatever he wants. :)

I Dotted this before I had seen the whole thing and now I think it is one of the best tirades I have ever watched. Olbermann is the man.

Army Squeezes Soldier Blogs, Maybe to Death -

An announcement: "Please keep fighting for our rights to freedom of speech, just make sure not to use it."

Quoted: The U.S. Army has ordered soldiers to stop posting to blogs or sending personal e-mail messages, without first clearing the content with a superior officer, Wired News has learned. The directive, issued April 19, is the sharpest restriction on troops' online activities since the start of the Iraq war. And it could mean the end of military blogs, observers say.

    --------

Quoted: "The reputation of the Army is maintained on many fronts, and no one fights harder on its behalf than our young soldiers. We must allow them access to the fight," Robbins wrote. "To silence the most credible voices -- those at the spear's edge -- and to disallow them this function is to handicap ourselves on a vital, very real battlefield."

Quoted: I believe that I've got the exclusive scoop on this new blog-posting feature from Blue Dot [you must register and get an account to currently see the set-up form] as I was one of only a couple "closed-Alpha" testers. Lucky me, I was just given the go-ahead to let people know about it, before Blue Dot has even announced it on their own blog. As a blogger,

Absolutely disgusting. If you use bestbuy.com in a Best Buy Store, they remove promotions, etc. They have a completely separate website for in-store and they use it to screw people out of discounts.

Exclusive: Is Spotplex a Better Digg?

I like the idea of Spotplex - instead of doing voted news like DIgg, they allow users to put a piece of code into their templates and then the track clicks. Popular stories make their homepages inan automated, hopefully less gamey, way.

Quoted: A new site called Spotplex launched today that arguably sorts news in a better way than Digg does. I've been testing the service ...

I wasn't aware that Obama has frozen out Fox News for reporting on him inaccurately and in a scurrilous manner. I think that's great.

Calling Fox's echo-chamber "news" is horribly inappropriate.

There is also a video on this page showing Barack's coverage on Fox to date.

    This guy is pretty amazing.

Quoted: Ok, here it is! The greatest impression video of all time, I challenge anyone else to match it! I have done 48-50 impressions in less than 10 minutes. And I think they are pretty decent impressions as well. Well, you'll just have to watch and see. Basically I've been seeing some impression videos lately being featured on YouTube, and I thought Artie's was pretty good but the other one featured recently sucked and made me want to showcase how real impressions are done. Anyway, they're not all spot on but pretty close. Enjoy! YouTube cut off the tail end of this video which listed all the impressions in order of appearance, so here they are for you curious ones. Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Barney, Homer, Lovejoy, Mr. Burns, Smithers, George W. Bush, Jiminy Glick, Ed Grimley, Butt-head, Beavis, Hank Hill, Jerry Seinfeld, Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sean Connery, Agent Smith, Keanu Reeves, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Yoda, C-3PO, Jar-Jar Binks, Boss Nass, Pee-Wee Herman, Woody Woodpecker, King Arthur (Monty Python), Knight Who Says Ni (Monty Python), Mario, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Bobby, Robin Williams (Southern Guy, School Girl), Casey Kasem, Steve Irwin, Louis Armstrong, Uncle Rico, Kip, Napolean Dynamite, Pedro, Stevie Wonder, Jay Leno, Kermit the Frog, and Curly EDIT: Thanks for featuring the video YouTube and thanks to all the fans. Just a side note, I made this video before Steve Irwin's untimely death. I was very very bummed to hear of his passing, I was a big fan of his. Anyway, I hope I do him at least a little justice with my impression of him. Take care and God bless!
