The Seattle Times: Sports: Woods takes playoff after Cink misses 8-foot putt to win

I watched the end of the Bridgestone Invitational yesterday and got to see Tiger Woods come from behind, go into a playoff, and then win - again. He's playing the best golf I've ever seen him play. Even when his full swing is off a bit, as it was yesterday, he finds ways to win. Amazing!

Quoted: Woods ran his total to 52 victories on the PGA Tour. He boosted his tour playoff record to 10-1, including 2-0 at Firestone. But Woods knew he was lucky just to get to extra holes.

Alright gentlemen! Now that you've dispatched the Yankees and Red Sox in the last week, we have to play against our own division tonight. Get it done!

    Amazon.com 2Q Earnings Slide 35 Percent

Amazon reported Q1 earnings. The pendulum of currency conversion (so good to them a year ago) has now swung hard back the other way (to the tune of $94 million dollars this quarter). Ouch! The good news is that the results actually met expectations.

Quoted: SEATTLE -- Amazon.com Inc. said Tuesday that earnings fell nearly 35 percent in the first quarter, compared to the same period last year in which the online retailer had a big one-time gain.

Wow. Phil totally "Tin Cupped" it. One of the worst 72nd hole collapses ever in a US Open. I'm bummed. I was pulling for the big lefty. Congrats to Geoff Ogilvy though. He put himself in position and played really well. Pretty good tv until the end.

2006 PC World Innovations Awards - Yahoo! News

Quoted: Innovation is everywhere: In sleek industrial design (Apple's iPod Nano), in unique technologies that enable new capabilities (Kodak's dual-lens EasyShare V570), and in products that bring the cost of high-end technologies down from the stratosphere (Sony's Handycam HDR-HC1 high-definition camcorder). Innovative products and services do it first, do it well, or re-imagine what's been done before. They're the kind of products that make you wonder: Why didn't I think of that?

    Win Some, Lose Some - PBS - I. Cringely - 20060112

Cringely's annual predictions for the world of technology. Every year these are pretty well reasoned and historically he has been pretty accurate.

There are a lot of Apple-centric predictions this year (it's shaping up to be quite a year for them) but I really like the last prediction about Yahoo being the dark-horse everyone keeps forgetting about... Google may have stolen a lot of thunder but Yahoo has been steadily innovating for a while now and has a ton of media at their disposal.

Thanks to maumau30 I discovered this video blog and been enjoying it when I get a chance to look. I've bookmarked the episode showing her "dueling banjos" slideshow impression of CES this year.

Hey matthallett, how hard would it be to get our photo show to do this?

The Sony site for their new reader. I saw this in person at CES and liked it quite a lot. Probably the first one that I think might be worth the price and have enough content for sustained effort in this space.
