If I were a cynical bastard, I would have invested in Halliburton when Bush/Cheney got elected to the Oval Office. I thought about it, justifying it by saying that I'd use proceeds to do everything possible to subvert whatever they were doing.

Presidents and their cabinet should not be allowed to maintain a financial interest in comapny stocks while in office. That just seems pretty clear and unambiguous. How can Cheney justify making nearly $8million on this?

The Daily Show has a recording of an exclusive call between Dick Cheney and Geroge W. Bush after the recent hunting mishap Cheney was involved in.

Yikes. A pretty scathing indictment of Cheney and Libby and the entire Bush administration. It lays out in great detail what was known and when it was known prior to the war in Iraq.

The testimony in the Libby trial had people with first-hand knowledge testify to this effect.

It is now becoming clear that there was a concerted effort to discredit Joseph Wilson and Inspector Albright prior to the war. Cheney had staff dig up dirt on both of them. Wonder why we did not hear much from these folks at the time? They were muzzled.

Seriously, this makes me so angry every time I look into it. When all of this smoke clears, I hope we get an accurate indication of how everything played out. One thing I am fairly certain now, material facts were covered up when explaining the rationale for going to war to the American people. That makes the actual reason for war moe insidious and meddlesome.
