An excellent response on TechDirt to the unviersal Google library article I dotted earlier today from the New Yorker.

IMO, Google is ripe for a bit of a revaluation. The honeymoon phase is over. They have a great business but people are over-paying. I know what this felt like at Amazon. When I joined we could do no wrong. A year later we could do no right. 3 years in we started getting begrudging acceptance as a business that was going to be around for the long haul.

This is a good little writeup of how Google's financials are changing as they spend wildly.

Blodget is laying out a scenario he says could potentially "kneecap" Google's stock. This is the analyst who became infamous for calling a $400 stock price on Amazon. If I remember correctly, he called it as his 12-month target and the stock hit it within the next several weeks. Anyways, here Blodget is more reticent. He's not saying that this "will" happen, only that it's something to be wary of. There are actually some pretty smart comments as counterpoint on this though.
