Funny commentary. Lore Sjoberg sets up a MySpace page.
Quoted: Next step is to add a background image. There are pages on MySpace without background images, but all they have going for them is legibility. Take it from me, a massive picture of an anime demon kitty in high heels and an extremely skimpy nurse's outfit says more about you than a thousand readable blog entries could.

eric | Shared With: Everyone - Aug 12 2006 | mp3, Inklein Quartet, MySpaceThis is one of those random serendipitous occurrences - I received a friend request at MySpace from the "Inklein Quartet" (probably because I am a friend of the Kronos Quartet) and went to listen to their posted tracks. This one called "Lonely Whale Song" struck me as a Massive Attack meets Kronos, which is right up my alley. Check it out.
I'm still trying to find a place to purchase the whole album for a reasonable price. It's available for $9.99 on itunes but it's missing a track and I hate that. Their site says I can get it at cdbaby but they're out (and I'm on the waiting list). Amazon has it (on 4 - 6 week special order) for $19.00 and that's just more than I want to pay. Silver Platters here in Northgate doesn't have it either. Blech.
Let me know what you think. You have to get past the first 30 seconds to a minute for the song to really kick in.

Holy snap! I bet Rupert Murdoch is pretty happy with the MySpace purchase price now. How do you think Google feels after deciding not to buy MySpace? Google is now now paying 3X the original purchase price they were offered just to provide search on the site.
Quoted: Google will pay News Corp. at least $900 million to be the search provider on MySpace and other sites. The move -- a blow to rival Yahoo -- gives Google exclusive access to one of the most popular sites on the Internet, and follows Google's $1 billion deal to provide searches on AOL.

A public experiment that was better in theory than in practice: "In the end, the restrooms, installed in early 2004, had become so filthy, so overrun with drug abusers and prostitutes, that although use was free of charge, even some of the city’s most destitute people refused to step inside them."
2 FaversViewed: 3 TimesQuoted: After spending $5 million, Seattle officials decided to close the city’s five automated public toilets, which had become filthy and costly.
