    I wish I'd known about this before our Paris trip in November! Furnished apartment rentals, some of which are less expensive than the hotel we stayed in.

    When Jan and I were in Paris last week, she was quite enthralled by the "Le Chat Noir" posters. I wanted to look it up and see what they were ll about. Turns out that it was a late 19th-century cabaret and artist salon.

    This is amazing! "Cultural guerillas" sneaking into famous French landmarks to restore them. Their most recent coup is breaking into the Pantheon and fixing the gigantic clock. I would have loved to have seen the movie theater under the Seine.

    Vandal Punches Hole in a Monet in Paris - New York Times

    Vandals broke into the Musée d’Orsay early Sunday morning, punching a 4 inch hole in a famous Monet painting as well as leaving "various bits of filth" before fleeing security guards.
