Parents. You need to start getting excited that your child even WANTS to read Pulitzer Prize winning novelists. It's obviously an indication of sophistication that you seem to lack.
Quoted: Kaleb Tierce, 25, is being investigated for allegedly distributing harmful material to a minor after the student selected Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Cormac McCarthy's "Child of God" off the list and read it.

Interesting article on this year's USC Trojans. The article basically claims that the hyperbole surrounding this year's team is hype. In investing, this phenomemnon is know as recency bias and I could not agree more with the assessment. I think the Wednesday evening Rose Bowl is going to be closer than anyone is predicting. I would not be totally surprised if USC were to lose. In which case all of this hyperbole makes for "one of the biggest upsets in college footbowl history." If the spread is larger than 3 points in Vegas, I"d definitely throw some money on the Longhorns...
Quoted: Remember those old Saturday Night Live sketches featuring Chicago Bears fans who go to comic extremes in their genuflection before their team and its coach? The "Super Fans" are so confident in their team that they quickly dispense with predictions ("Da Bears, 62 to 3") and focus instead on hypothetical matchups. What would happen if the Bears players were all 14 inches tall? What about if Coach Ditka had to play the New York Giants by himself? "I gotta say Ditka 17, Giants 14."
