Amazon Launching Pay-Per-View Streaming Next Week (AMZN) - Silicon Alley Insider

Apparently Jeff announced that Amazon will be launching Pay-Per-View streaming service next week. I wonder what that entails and if it will work as well as my Tivo 3/Unbox connection right now? Will I also be able to access music subscriptions?

I like the new Tivo commercials. This is the one that's co-branded with Amazon. Pretty funny.

Amazon Unbox arrives on the TiVo

Interesting stuff on the new Tivo/Amazon service in the discussion on this thread. Apparently series 3 Tivo's may not yet be supported...

Boing Boing: Amazon Unbox to customers: Eat shit and die

Cory Doctorow is awesome. Here he takes Amazon to task for their horrid new Unbox service. He goes through the user agreement in pretty good detail, translating it into common language. It's pretty funny and pretty damning.

And to think, I was so excited about this service before it was released. It seems they're trying to piss people off at every possibility.

Not the best experience with the new Amazon Video Download store...

Quoted: I do not recommend you try Amazon Unbox, and here's why. Yesterday evening I decided to give the video download service a try, especially since it gives you a free $1.99 video. A nice touch, I thought. I chose a Star Trek episode called
