One Laptop Per Child > Give One. Get One.

Get your OLPC laptop starting today for the next 15 days. Buy one for a child and get one for yourself!

Quoted: The mission of One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) is to empower the children of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child. In order to accomplish our goal, we need people who believe in what we’re doing and want to help make education for the world’s children a priority, not a privilege. Between November 12 and November 26, OLPC is offering a Give One Get One program in the United States and Canada. During this time, you can donate the revolutionary XO laptop to a child in a developing nation, and also receive one for the child in your life in recognition of your contribution.

This new Toshiba Laptop looks amazingly slick. .77 inches thick (the thinnest available), 1.72 lbs., with some interesting indoor/outdoor screen functionality. I like it.

Fujitsu adopts flash memory for new tablets | CNET News.com

It has begun - laptop/tablet PCs now being sold with flash rather that regualr hard drives. Less power consumption and better reliability. Now they just need to get a whole lot larger on the capacity side.

Quoted: Fujitsu adopts flash memory for new tablets | Flash drives are expensive and hold less data, but for tablet PCs, which tend to get dropped a lot, they can be a good fit. Photos: Flash-based LifeBooks | March 19, 2007, 4:00 AM PT | Michael Kanellos

Samsung Aura To Rival Black Macbook?

I think the new Samsung laptops are quite nice looking. I'd like to see them in person. It'd be nice if mainstream PCs took a little while to focus on some decent design. Alienware and Voodoo make nice machines but they're so expensive.

Quoted: Samsung isn’t a big dog in the notebook PC market in the U.S., but the Aura series sure does a great job of making its ...

12" Panasonic Toughbook with a strap that keep it on your arm... I'm not sure how about the usability but it seems like a way to move and hopefully not drop the thing.

64GB Compact Flash from Samsung in 2008? That's going to make some computers MUCH smaller if true...

Ben Heckendorn's Xbox 360 laptop: best mod ever? - Engadget

This is a really sick mod of an xbox 360. I wonder how much he charged for that thing? While great, 14 pounds is a bit on the extreme side for lugging around.

    Computer go boom

My name is Eric and I kill computers. There, I said it.

My work machine just went bonk - hard. It now makes clacking noises and does not start. I don't think Blue Dot will be purchasing any more Compaqs. Kabir's went toast and mine has been toasted twice prior to today's problems.
