Interesting though perhaps not surprising. Apple is a fan of pixel-perfect mockups and multiple design treatments.

How Seagate learned to package like Apple.

A photo exploration opening Seagate's new "FreeAgent"drive. It's more compelling than it sounds as Seagate really focused on the "getting started" experience, ripping a page straight out of the apple playbook.

Feature Presentation: Financial Page: The New Yorker

A short piece in The New Yorker buttressing the well-known concept that users shop features when purchasing but want simple usability when they actually use the product. It's an experience which is very difficult to provide.

AppleInsider | Apple's next-generation iMacs to add a touch of grace

The rumor on the street (or at least at AppleInsider) is that Apple is soon to introduce a new iMac form factor. Personally, the iMac I've owned at home for the last couple of years (the most recent form factor but without the camera and non-Intel) has been the best machine I've ever owned. I can't wait to see what they do next.

Why Apple is the best retailer in America - March 19, 2007

A good article on the retail store side of Apple. Businessweek and TheStreet.com predicted miserable failure. They were very wrong. Apple stores are clearing more than $4k/sq ft/yr.

Quoted: "Sorry Steve, Here's Why Apple Stores Won't Work," BusinessWeek wrote with great certainty in 2001. "It's desperation time in Cupertino, Calif.," opined TheStreet.com. "I give [Apple] two years before they're turning out the lights on a very painful and expensive mistake," predicted retail consultant David Goldstein.

Review: Apple's wireless Mighty Mouse - The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)

This is the new bluetooth Mighty Mouse from Apple. I was dorking around with one in the Apple Store the other day and feeling like a moron because every time I clicked something I got a drop-down menu. I thought that thing was broken and then a helpful employee mentioned to me that this mouse actually has right and left click even though there are no buttons! That little tip seemed to help (but I still feel stupid).

PhillRyu.com - Fake Leopard Screenshot Contest Winners: Better Than The Real Thing?

They just ran a design contest where they challenged people to come up with a new look for Mac OS X. These are the winners. Click the images to see the other ones for each entry. The winner's is really nice.
