    A Dose of Desire - washingtonpost.com

The Little Blue Pills are ten years old but the Little Pink Pills have yet to be released. Beware, it'll be here soon. Viagra for women.

Quoted: Viagra turns 10 this month, and didn't time just fly? It seems like only yesterday we started guffawing at the Symbolism for Dummies ads on TV for the little blue pill and its "erectile dysfunction" rivals -- footballs tossed through tires, faucets erupting. The spots ended with a list of potential...

When the Going Gets Tough - Photo Essays - TIME

This race looks unlike any other I have seen. Dirty and nasty. 8 miles of challenging obstacles.

Quoted: The 'Tough Guy Challenge', in Perton, UK, is a biannual race over a course of eight miles. Its 21 obstacles include fire, tunnels, barbed wire, slides and swamps. Thousands of normal citizens compete.

Unhappy Meals - Michael Pollan - New York Times

I didn't see this article on nutritionism from Michael Pollan last year. I wish I had. Speaking in a no-nonsense style, he tells us just how little scientific knowledge of food that we have.

Quoted: The story of how basic questions about what to eat got so complicated reveals a great deal about the institutional imperatives of the food industry, nutritional science and journalism.

'Meteorite' Crash Breeds Mass Hysteria - Yahoo! News

Well maybe if one of these meteorites hit a nuclear waste storage facility (or any other superfund cleanup site, or a good deal of the area in China) we'll see people ACTUALLY getting sick. Then this author will feel silly.

Quoted: On what started as a normal Saturday night one week ago, residents of a small, remote Peruvian town saw a bright light streak across the sky, heard a resounding bang and suddenly found themselves at the center of a media frenzy.

Mt. Rainier to Pacific Relay - July 13th - 14th

I just got invited to do the Mt. Rainier to Pacific Relay with Ken (redelk2535) and some of his friends. Looks like a bunch of fun and it's only a few weeks after I'm doing the Mountains to Sound so I should be in shape already.

How to Get Six Pack Abs - WikiHow

A great wiki-how on acheiving six-pack abs. No real secrets but a good reminder of the work you can do to get there...

A healthy reminder that I need to start hitting the gym again, especially now that it's getting dark so early.

American Alpine Institute - Physical Conditioning for Mountaineering and Expeditions

I have often been asked what sort of conditioning one should do for mountaineering. How much needs to be done and how can I test myself? This article is one of the best I have seen addressing those issues.

Quoted: Physical Conditioning for Mountaineering and Expeditions
