The livejournal page for the optimus keyboard project is pretty cool. I'm not really sure what I'd use that little three key keyboard for but I'm pretty certain I can come up with some stuff (how about a "Dot This!" button?).

Blatant rumor and speculation without a shred of actual evidence regarding optimus-like programmable keys on the MacBook pro.

I know several of us have been drooling over the forthcoming Optimus keyboard which has a dispaly on every key. It looks like they're release a smaller, three-button version as a starting point. You can pre-order through April 1st for $100. I am thinking of getting one so I can configure a huge dedicated "Dot This!" button on my desk. Sweet!
