I didn't see this article on nutritionism from Michael Pollan last year. I wish I had. Speaking in a no-nonsense style, he tells us just how little scientific knowledge of food that we have.

It's one thing to have obese adults, it's another thing completely to have 22 MILLION obese children. This points to a huge gap in understanding of nutrition and diet. I don't think I ever really ingrained any dietary habits from school. I wonder how we can do a better job making sure that everyone can balance their food intake a bit more?
