Pre-order the new Shins album today (it comes out tomorrow) to guarantee your $9.99 price). You can watch their music video on the provided link or get access to a podcast interview with James Merecr, which is kind of cool.
My copy just shipped from the Amazon FC. I love how they tend to deliver new releases within a day or two of them coming out. They respect the release date (as in, it won't get here today) but they try to get things to you on the relase day or one day later. It's always faster than I expect.

Quoted: Last night, security legend Bruce Schneier gave a tremendous lecture as part of the Technology and Public Diplomacy series I'm organizing at USC. He talked about privacy in the era of Moore's Law, and the fact that advanced technology makes it easier to spy than to resist spying. One remark that stuck with me is that "personal data is like pollution" -- like the CO2 we offgas and the waste we produce. Our data-trail is toxic crud, and we haven't developed any good technology to help us dispose of it -- all our technology is devoted to saving and manipulating that data.

This seems like an interesting science fiction podcast reading.
Quoted: “It’s not just that, Brian. Think about this technology. The experiment’s been successful beyond anyone’s expectations. Spyware fittings for registered offenders will no doubt go into effect next year. But why stop there? Can you imagine having a therapist, a financial counselor, a social secretary, a nutritionist and personal trainer at your beck and call twenty- four hours a day? You’d like to get rid of that spare tire, right? We could help you. Really.”
Quoted: Hayes shivers, though the climate inside the car is perfectly controlled. “Sure,” he says. “And I could have the whole world watching everything I do, for the rest of my life.”
Quoted: Rated R. Contains profanity and sexual themes.
