Chef Eric Ripert has discovered some of the attributes of a perfect burger and most center around the relative sizing of the ingredients. The one that sounds coolest, and for which he was most coy, was the ratio of fat to flesh. Yum!

Jan and I ate here with Audrey and Matt last night and it was quite nice. While the diner atmosphere throws you off a bit, the upscale food and service were fantastic. The 3 course fixed price meal for $30 was brilliant and I felt fair priced for what you were served. The grilled tuna main course cooked raw was succulent. The appetizer crispy pork shank carnitas was a marvelous taste explosion (and everyone else loved their razor clam chowder). Pricey but close to the market and recommended.

I had the buffet lunch at Anita's Bistro today and I have to say that I really hope that this restaurant finds a way to be successful in my neighborhood. The last business in the same location didn't even last a year and nobody has been there eating for 2 out of 3 times I have been in the restaurant, nobody else has been eating there or picking up food. To be fair, both of those times have been early Saturday afternoons.
The food is great, fresh and not too heavy. They bring you naan straight out of the kitchen that's too hot to touch. Plenty of veggie options and great sauces. A bunch of us from Blue Dot went there one day and all had the buffet. Everyone seemed to like it.
I'd be interested in trying out a full dinner there some night but I expect that the buffet will continue to tide me over for some time to come...

Not that I'm a vegetarian but this is my favorite veggie resturant in Seattle. It's in Greenwood by the 74th Street Ale House. While pricey, it's worth every penny and they serve one of the largest glasses of wine for the money.

eric | Shared With: Everyone - Nov 10 2005 | Seattle, restaurant, foodNot the most informative page I have ever seen but it's the only existing page I could find for one of my favorite dining "Hidden Gems." The Jones is my local pub/eatery and it's better than your local pub/eatery. So there - take that.
Mellow ambience, usually good music, excellent grub. The menu changes a couple times a month and the chef used to work for The Herb Garden. 'Nuff said?

But, with record-high unemployment and the ongoing home foreclosure crisis, the sentiment to spend and indulge is almost unbearable for many of us around Seattle.
