eric | Shared With: Everyone - Nov 06 2007 | support, mac, apple, superdriveI'm having an issue burning DVD-R with my Superdrive. I get a hardware error like the following:
Sense Key: HARDWARE ERROR
Sense Code: 0x03This thread talks collects some others who have had the same issue. It seems like media issues may at least be part of the problem but the guy at the bottom recommends the following:
Quoted: Solution: Restart your computer, when computer chimes during restart, press and HOLD these keys: "Apple + Option + P + R". Continue to hold all four keys and wait for the computer to chime three more times, there is a small interval between each chime as it is resetting the video memory and something else.
Quoted: After the 3rd chime, you can release the keys and start up as normal, test your DVD burner again and see if it's working. At least this seemed to work for me. I burned using Toast 6.1 Platinum with Memorex DVD-R discs, data was over 3 GBs with no problems.

Apple is down 50% in the last two months! I suppose Apple products (more so than Microsoft's or Google's) are considered discretionary spending. Apple's P/E is still considerably higher than that of Microsoft's.
