Attack of the Super Crunchers: Ian Ayres on Data Mining - Freakonomics - Opinion - New York Times Blog

I love this type of analysis. Sometimes the simple improvements are right in front of you.

Quoted: Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt, authors of Freakonomics, keep the conversation going from their best-selling book that explores the hidden side of everything.

Anne 2.0 » Blog Archive » How to Make Your Blog Popular

A great list on making your blog popular over time.

I like the idea of becoming a power commenter, despite the fact I also find it a little bit annoying. When I get posts from other people and they link to their blogs, I always wonder if they're really just trying to drive traffic their own way. Oh well, I guess that's fine, as long as the comment they want to post to my blog has value.

mrefranklin: Initial Thoughts About "The Singularity is Near," by Ray Kurzweil

I just picked up "The Singularity is Near" and started reading it again (I never made it very far the first time). This is heady, interesting stuff, so I blogged the basic premise and my initial reactions to the opening chapter. You can also get the first chapter for free via a PDF link in my post if you're interested.
