A Dose of Desire - washingtonpost.com

The Little Blue Pills are ten years old but the Little Pink Pills have yet to be released. Beware, it'll be here soon. Viagra for women.

Quoted: Viagra turns 10 this month, and didn't time just fly? It seems like only yesterday we started guffawing at the Symbolism for Dummies ads on TV for the little blue pill and its "erectile dysfunction" rivals -- footballs tossed through tires, faucets erupting. The spots ended with a list of potential...

Going After Gore, by Evgenia Peretz: Politics & Power: vanityfair.com

A great article on the coverage of Gore in the last election and how its biased insistence on misquotes and trivial shortcomings may have cost him the election.

Quoted: Al Gore couldn't believe his eyes: as the 2000 election heated up, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other top news outlets kept going after him, with misquotes ("I invented the Internet"), distortions (that he lied about being the inspiration for Love Story), and strangely off-the-mark needling, while pundits such as Maureen Dowd appeared to be charmed by his rival, George W. Bush. For the first time, Gore and his family talk about the effect of the press attacks on his campaign—and about his future plans—to the author, who finds that many in the media are re-assessing their 2000 coverage.

    CNN.com - Bush: Critics buy into terrorists' propaganda - Sep 29, 2006

It's not that I'm buying into the terrorist propaganda, Mr. President, it's that I've been listening to our own intelligence. You should try it sometime.

How can Bush still stand up and say absolutely dumb things like the following:

"You do not create terrorism by fighting terrorism."

Um, yes, you can. What do you think would happen if another country sent an occupying force into our country? I doubt we'd sit back and cheer them on. We'd want them gone too, especially after 5 years...

Quoted: President Bush asserted Friday that critics who claim the Iraq war has made America less safe embrace "the enemy's propaganda." He acknowledged setbacks in Afghanistan against a Taliban resurgence but predicted eventual victory.
