37Signals released their new online contact management application today. Looks pretty nifty although a bit expensive for personal use.

I've been using simpleGTD and I really like it but occasionally miss the use of calendaring/to-do functions. This new web app called Neptune looks like it might do the trick.

Although Flex 3 is open source, there isn't a decent IDE out there for it apart from Adobe's commercial Flex Builder 3. Luckily, they've made it free for students here - just fill in the form and attach a scanned copy of your student card. Only takes a day or two to get the key. Pretty neat stuff.

the annoying thing about the following is that I was raised vegetarian and the only people who made me uncomfortable were the meat eating kids who made fun of me. perhaps tolerance needs to be taught in those homes rather than expecting that vegetarian kids eat highly processed fake meat options...
The experts she quotes strongly suggest that parents allow some leeway, such as “allowing kids to eat meat at friends’ houses or restaurants or packing snacks and lunches that look like chicken nuggets or hot dogs but are actually made from soy or wheat gluten.”
