ESPN - Oden's rookie season likely lost after knee surgery - NBA

I feel bad for LeBron's dad... uhh, i mean this kid. I actually even feel bad for Trail Blazer fans (Chad). With all the buzz here in Seattle surrounding Durant, I can't help but think if Portland would have selected Durant and we selected Oden, would the Sonics be gone for sure? The Trail Blazers appear to still be in great shape for the future but this could have been a death blow for the city of Seattle in terms of retaining the team.

Quoted: Celebrated Trail Blazers rookie center Greg Oden, the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft, will be out at least until March and may miss the 2007-2008 season after undergoing knee surgery Thursday.

Keep Sonics in Seattle? Minority owner says that was never the plan

I usually feel like crap at the start of the week, but this news made me even sicker. What the article basically says is that Clay Bennett and his investors are lying bastards and they fully admit they duped the city of Seattle. Minority owner Aubrey McClendon flat out states "But we didn't buy the team to keep it in Seattle. We hoped to come here (Oklahoma City)." It irritates the hell out of me that he has the audacity to be so proud of his fleece job. Ultimately, the decision on the Sonics moving after this season will come to a judge regarding their Key Arena lease and David Stern... I can't see how these bold statements saying how they fucked Seattle would put them in the good graces of the NBA or the WA state supreme court. Ugh, I'm so heated right now...

Quoted: Sonics minority owner Aubrey McClendon told an Oklahoma newspaper that he and his partners "didn't buy the team to keep it in Seattle."

that's right Bill Simmons.... Seattle deserves the #1 pick!!! If we win tonight, I will not complain about my sports team for exactly one year... if we don't land the #1 or 2 pick, I don't know what I'll do...

    Conrad and Devin,

I'll address this to you guys b/c i think you're the only ones who read my sports dots. Simmons proposes the idea of a KG/ Stoudemire deal.... I've spent some time trying to figure out why this wouldn't work and you know what, I couldn't figure out a single reasonable reason.... this would be the biggest deal in NBA history and would work for both teams.
