I usually feel like crap at the start of the week, but this news made me even sicker. What the article basically says is that Clay Bennett and his investors are lying bastards and they fully admit they duped the city of Seattle. Minority owner Aubrey McClendon flat out states "But we didn't buy the team to keep it in Seattle. We hoped to come here (Oklahoma City)." It irritates the hell out of me that he has the audacity to be so proud of his fleece job. Ultimately, the decision on the Sonics moving after this season will come to a judge regarding their Key Arena lease and David Stern... I can't see how these bold statements saying how they fucked Seattle would put them in the good graces of the NBA or the WA state supreme court. Ugh, I'm so heated right now...
Quoted: Sonics minority owner Aubrey McClendon told an Oklahoma newspaper that he and his partners "didn't buy the team to keep it in Seattle."

that's right Bill Simmons.... Seattle deserves the #1 pick!!! If we win tonight, I will not complain about my sports team for exactly one year... if we don't land the #1 or 2 pick, I don't know what I'll do...

Quoted: Even if a new arena proposal doesn't win the support of lawmakers, the Seattle SuperSonics will remain in the Pacific Northwest for at least one more season. The Sonics won't file paperwork with the NBA to potentially relocate the franchise by the NBA's March 1 deadline, team spokesman Tom Savage confirmed Thursday night. - National Basketball Association news

Here is a link to list on the top 100 NBA players according to some sports analysts. Interesting opinions... if I were to compile a quick top 10 list, mine would be...
1. Kobe- absolutely filthy. when Kobe is on, he's the most unstoppable player in the league.
2. DWade- what he did in the playoffs last season was unreal. best consistent crunch time scorer in the playoffs since MJ.
3. LeBron- maybe the most talent in the league... if Kobe and DWade are better, it's by a minimal amount.
4. Dirk- I agree with what these guys say... toughest matchup in the league. He's a mismatch for any defender in the league.
5. Nash- besides Kobe, the most entertaining player in the league for me to watch. Nash running an offense is like watching an artist paint a masterpiece.
6. KG- just all around filthy. although, I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable if he could consistently hit big shots for my team like a DWade and Dirk.
7. Elton Brand- a perfect power forward. go to scorer, good rebounder, and even blocks 2.5 shots a game at only 6'8".
8. TMac- despite the injuries, talent level near Lebron, DWade, and Kobe. he will considered a great one if he can some success in the playoffs the next few seasons.
9. AI- tough as hell and still getting 33 points a game. just keeps getting buckets
10. Ray Ray- might be a homer pick but this guy was so filthy in the playoffs a few years ago for Seattle. He was unstoppable and the national media didn't give him his due. I was pretty close to putting Gilbert Arenas here.

I don't believe that the NBA under Stern would allow Seattle to buy/create a team any time soon. As in within 10 years.
1 FaverQuoted: A new tax-diversion plan could give the city the $75 million it needs to get the ball rolling on a KeyArena renovation and, eventually, the return of the NBA to Seattle.
