I've been hearing more and more good things about al jazeera coverage.

to paraphrase something that helga heard from a bbc foreign corresponded in burma:

al jazeera has a young team and amazing coverage. they just don't know how to package it all as nicely as bbc or cnn (the masters of packaging). if they figure that out, they'll start kicking our butts.

apparently they are just pumping money into hiring the best people.
