i just picked up McDonough and Braungart's book Cradle to Cradle and noticed in the back that chi-town is listed as one of their partners. This is McDonough's overview of the partnership. It's a little lacking on details, but as far as I know Chicago is the only city that has seriously considered Cradle to Cradle for city renovation.
also, the book is freaking awesome from a fetishist's perspective. it smells like no other book i have ever smelled and it is almost infinitely eraseable. i underlined a bunch of stuff on one page with a fine pen, took a wet washcloth, and successfully scrubbed off all the marks and underlinings without damage to either 'paper' or ink. pretty pretty cool...

2 FaversViewed: 10 TimesQuoted: Pie in the sky? An impossibility? If you were talking about converting an automobile to use water alone as fuel then yes - unless your name is George Jetson!I'm not here to tell you that I recently converted my Volkswagen to burn water as fuel instead of gas - I wish I was! That day hasn't arrived yet but man if it ever does? Wow!No, I'm here to testify to a lesser miracle, a scientific miracle that is, which allows my cars ( and my truck) to benefit from a DIY kit that I assembled myself, from items I bought at my local hardware store, which adds HH0 gas to my engine's combustion chamber to improve the engine's fuel burning ability.Confused? Let me explain....I recently bought the plans and instructions on creating this simple kit ( I'm not a mechanic, far from it, but it was simple) connected it, as the instructions simply explained and what happened is this:The electricity from my car's battery, via a sort of electrolysis, releases the hydrogen and oxygen gas ( HH0) from the water ( H20) which is then funneled into my car's combustion chamber. What this means is that the car now burns the gasoline more efficiently. I get on average 35% more miles to the gallon which equates to about 25% reduction in my monthly fuel bills. I'm ready for what looks like the upcoming hike in fuel prices, no problem! We're a 2 car, 1 truck family so the fuel savings are considerable. The plans and cost of building the conversion kit were paid for within just ONE month!Find out more about the conversion plans I used here >I'm not telling you that this company provides the most affordable set of plans and instructions to convert a car to run on water gas and gasoline that's why I set up my little site and blog which compares the top #3 DIY kit plan suppliers:Check out the Car2Water site here >
