Google could easily end up shutting out their core users and promoters, thus influencing a mass exodus to other search engines. Another possibility is anti-trust. If Google succeeds in controlling all content, including the physical dissemination of that content, then Google may be in for a long Microsoft-like ride.

You must be Jon's friend before you can comment on this Fave.I think Google is already quite exposed vis anti-trust violations. One could argue that their lock on the Search market gives them near total control of traffic to any web-based service. Google's lack of transparency about HOW they rank results to competing sites opens them up to charges of potential unfair practices.
