The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)

I didn't think the movie was horrible...it was alright, just not what I expected. I thought the story would be a bit more entertaining, along the lines of Return To Oz... a few cool moments, a few cheesy moments, combining to create at least a positive feeling to walk away with...This movie was just a whole lot of cheesiness. I feel like Velveeta had its way with me and ran.

    Court: Child-renting sentence too short - CNN.com

What is wrong with our judicial system? 10 years in prison and parenting classes?! That's laughable... it's hard to accept that our society would really allow this woman to parent a child ever again.

Quoted: A federal appeals court threw out the 10-year prison sentence of a woman who rented her 9-year-old daughter to a pedophile more than 200 times, saying the punishment was too lenient.

Okay, I have to add... this website is really fun. The pages from Guillermo's sketchbook are worth checking out, even if you're not interested in the movie.

I can't wait to see this film! It looks amazing.

    Olivier, Olivier (1992)

Read a review of this and want to check it out. Sadly, Netflix doesn't have it and it's a little dated (for a foreign movie in the US) So, I'm on the hunt... maybe Scarecrow will have it...

American Apparel to Be Sold to Investment Firm - New York Times

I was surprised to hear that American Apparel was being sold, but even more surprised to read about its founder Dov Charney.

"Mr. Charney has gained a reputation as the Hugh Hefner of retailing, decorating his stores with covers of Penthouse magazine and admitting in interviews to sleeping with employees. In lawsuits filed in 2005, several employees charged him with creating a work environment in which women did not feel safe."

Quoted: The decision to sell the privately held company is a surprise move by the company’s eccentric founder.
