Don Hertzfeldt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    I like.

Quoted "Don Hertzfeldt (born August 1, 1976) is the creator of many short animated films. These films typically feature hand-drawn stick figures acting out dadaist combinations of slapstick, absurd, and black humor along with heavier existential themes. Hertzfeldt creates his films with traditional pen and paper animation, without the aid of computers."

Cinema of Nigeria (Nollywood) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just read that Nigerian cinema is the 3rd fastest growing in the world. First being the U.S., second being India. Interesting.

Quoted: Many foreign and local critics have criticized Nollywood for trite plots, poor dialogue, terrible sound, and poor production values. Some worry that the prevalence of witchcraft and violence in the movies may encourage the worst stereotypes about Africans. Yet in just 13 years, Nollywood has grown from nothing into a US$250 million-a-year industry that employs thousands of people. The Nollywood phenomenon was made possible by two main ingredients: Nigerian entrepreneurship and digital technology.

Wikipedia Quote- "The Wilhelm scream is a stock sound effect first used in 1951 for the movie Distant Drums. The scream was most likely vocalized by actor-singer Sheb Wooley, who later had a number one pop hit with the novelty song "Purple People Eater." It has been featured in dozens of movies since."

This is really scary... and makes me really angry, kids should not be put through that kind of stress.

Quoted: Speaking in tongues, weeping for salvation, praying for an end to abortion and worshipping a picture of President Bush — these are some of the activities at Pastor Becky Fischer's Bible camp in North Dakota,

BMW put out a series of shorts called, The Hire, each was made by a well known director. This one was shown last in the series because it wasn't quite what BMW had in mind :P Recommended watch by my aesthetics of cin. instructor. I like it quite a bit, not only does it star Clive Owen, it's directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (21 Grams, Amores Perros). Better than your average commercial ;)

Quoted: BMW Film by Alejandro González Iñárritu CAST Clive Owen - The Driver Stellan Skarsgård - Harvey Jacobs Lois Smith - Mother SYNOPSIS It is January 13, 2001. Time photo-journalist Harvey Jacobs is wounded in a coup-ridden unnamed South American country. In a desperate effort, the United Nations sends a vehicle to get him out. Soldiers patrol the fields and rural villages. It is up to the Driver to get Jacobs and his film past the strongly guarded border to safety. With French Subtitles. End generic cut because of the 10 min lenght Youtube limitation...

A friend of mine just told me about this... it's really sad. It features Crispin Glover, the dad from Back to the Future, high on something on the David Letterman show.

Quoted: Vintage Clip of Crispin Glover High on Acid during the David Letterman show.
