I had never heard what any of the actual "science" was that the Japanese were purportedly doing with the whales that they killed and ate. I'm not sure that we need test tube whales.

Very interesting philosophical question for all animals held in captivity ... do you allow behaviors to exist in as natural a state as possible or do you admit that it's a contrived environment and therefore the animal will not be acting naturally anyway ...
