Vulture Reading Room - 'The Lost Symbol,' by Dan Brown -- New York Magazine

For all of you Dan Brown haters and those who love his "so bad it's good" books ...

Quoted: Dan Brown is a real living author. His book The Da Vinci Code sold more than 81 million copies....The Lost Symbol is actually the title of Dan Brown’s new novel, not a parody title invented to make fun of how similar all of his novels are. It sold 1 million copies on its first day in stores....All references to Dan Brown and his work in this Reading Room are accurate. The sentences excerpted from The Lost Symbol were actually written by Dan Brown.

WeBeReading is on this "100 Best" list under General Fiction Reviews.  Yay!

Quoted: It seems that a large number of book fanatics love to write about what they’ve read almost as much as doing the actual reading. That’s a good thing for the rest of the readers out there, because blogs about books are an excellent way to discover great books without wasting your valuable time on the bad ones. Check out these blogs that are all dedicated to reviewing books.

Chronicle Books Blog » Blog Archive » A Reading Rainbow Goodbye

    We love you, Reading Rainbow!

Quoted: Perhaps this is why the Children’s group here at Chronicle was saddened by the news that after 26 years on PBS, Reading Rainbow aired for the last time last Friday. No more butterflies and rainbows, no more book reviews by kids, no more LeVar Burton (at least on PBS).

We Be Reading: Our One Year Blog-iversary!

We Be Reading's one year blog anniversary.

Quoted: Thank you to our Followers and Subscribers and all of the people who just stop by once in a while to see what we have to say about books and reading! We've had visitors from all fifty states now and seventy countries. Thank you to the person in Wyoming who finally clicked in!

When I started this blog last summer, I decided to give it one year. Now, just over 300 posts later, I'm excited about what we have contributed to the book blogging community. I feel like I am making progress on finding my voice and improving my blog writing style. Thank you for all of the comments and the sense of community. I'm looking forward to discovering more new authors, revisiting some old ones and exploring new books with Z as he gets another year older. I hope you all stick around on this fun book journey with us!
