"Her Majesty" was so great, and then the next record wasn't. So when this new one came out and I skeptically put it in the CD player, I found it to be.... the best yet! We still have their charming little stories told with antiquated words, but their style has evolved to be punchier, and more rockin'. However, we still get treated to quiet, slow, loping songs like "Shankill Brothers" (a haunting warning for chiildren who go to bed too late), and poppy ditties like "Yankee Bayonet." Check it out, fools!

I saw these guys this summer at Sasquatch, but was first charmed by their ubiquitous song, "the Skin of My Yellow Coutnry Teeth" (I've heard it on The Office, some commercial, and the movie teaser for "Patchwork Patterns"). I finally borrowed the whole album from my roommate (thanks Christina!) yesterday and have been listening to it nonstop. I still like that one song the best, though :)

One of my new favorite bands! Their newest album (which has been out for two years) is awesome. Apparently they did the entire soundtrack to Little Miss Sunshine, which is next on my list of movies to see....

This is my buddy Sean's page, and this is a shameless plug for his multiple simultaneous projects. Next show in Seattle is in two weekends at the High Dive!
