Proposed prohibition of using trans fats for cooking in restaurants. It's a good idea in theory: if the people won't make healthy choices for themselves, then do it for them. But I see it like the unsuccessful ban on another of America's favorite vices: alcohol. Can't you just see it? Organized fat crimerings; underground fatty speakeasys; contraband homemade fried cheeseballs in greasy paper bags! Oh yes, Chicago will have a nouveau gangster heyday.
Quoted: A proposal would make it illegal for restaurants to use oils with trans fats, which have been tied to health problems.

This farm offers a subscription for a weekly fresh fruit/veggie box for $28... it's a pretty good deal considering all items are organic and there's no way she gets close to using it all. It almost forces you to become a vegetarian, as you always have to think of ways to incorporate veggies into meals in an effort to eat it all before next week's box!

Sri, you're going to love this. But so will everyone else! Remember the college B.O.W.? That vinegary grape juice stuff? Well this wine in a box is actually good. And one box is 3 Liters. And it only costs $15. And did I mention it's tasty? My parents drink more wine than anybody I know, and they highly recommend this stuff, too. So poo poo the BOW no longer, kids!

Sri wanted me to dot this while she's almost passed out after watching 6 episodes of Sex and the City in a row. I'm also supposed to write something "quirky," and tell a quaint little story about our 99 cent sundaes. Yes, that's right, 99 cents... watch out McDonalds, here comes the Breck Brewery! Oh yeah, they make beer there, too.
