    Burton Chill Program

This is Burton's nonprofit agency geared towards getting at-risk youth on the mountain for a positive recreational experience. It sounds a lot like the Snowboard Outreach Society and The Service Board, but I actually have never met anyone who's had a hand in either coordinating, volunteering, or participating in their program...

I just watched this totally sick movie, In Transit, by Alterna Films. After watching many many snowboard movies from this year's round, I really enjoyed how In Transit captured the fun and comraderie that comes along with riding with your buddies... however, THESE buddies also happen to know how to shred it up! It needs to snow... like, now.

    Videos: Patchwork Patterns!

Here is an enthusiastic review by a Snowboarder Magazine contributor of the newest film from Think Thank (NW snowboard film producers). The movie will be premiering throughout the US, and will make its Seattle debut in late September. Until then, try to be satisfied with some of the content giveaways in this little ditty.

Quoted: Ben Fee takes you on the journey that is Think Thank Films new movie PATCHWORK PATTERNS! Check out his words!

    .:Arapahoe Basin Ski Area 2006-2007:.

As of next Sunday, A-Basin will be the only mountain open (well, that my pass is good at) within a reasonable distance from Breckenridge. I can't believe the season's almost over! Sigh. Farewell, beautiful Colorado snow.

    Nikita Clothing

Sri also wanted me to dot this, but I wholeheartedly agree. Nikita is a cool Icelandic clothing company that markets themselves as making "street clothes for girls who ride." And that's what it is... cute cute stuff for mountain girls who don't just want to to wear fleece all winter long.

Check it out y'alls! The teaser for the newest, latest from the folks at Seattle's greatest snowboard movie production company, Think Thank. It's a nice long one, and there's even a download for your video ipod. They'll probably release in September, but curb your cravings in the meanwhile with this tasty preview of the buttery stylings of.... well, lots of riders from all over. Enjoy!

    Snowboard Outreach Society

Thanks for the shout-out, Sri. Holla SOS!! Just in case you wondered what we do: SOS is a non-profit organization committed to providing snowboarding instruction, gear, and mentoring for at-risk youth. They're nationwide... there's even a branch at White Pass, WA!
I also volunteer at a cool place called the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. I feel another dot coming on...

    frequency The Snowboarder's Journal

Raise your hand if you're tired of flipping through ad-heavy magazines. Me!! frequency is a welcome relief from all that hoo-haa. Gorgeous spreads and clever articles make this one of my favorites... and the fact that it's snowboard-related doesn't hurt either.

Quoted: frequency is snowboarding's journal of international culture. A hype-free and independent medium based in Bellingham, WA, frequency is focused on the personalities, landscapes, and opinions which drive snowboarding forward.
