I LOVED the anne of green gables books when i was little. i still have all of them (except for the fourth in the series, anne of windy poplars) in my bedroom at home. when the summer slows down, i might have to pull them out and re-read them in celebration.
there's a "pre-quel" out now too -- "before green gables". might have to check that out even though drew has banned me from buying any more books this summer.

i can understand that there may have been some confusion in the distribution of supplies, but there doesn't seem to be any good reason for storing it for two years and then giving it away in the manner that they did. what a mess!
