Nick Gonzalez of TechCrunch wrote a very nice review about our name change and new features. It's been some months in the planning and agonizing over a name change - it's nice to have it completed now.

You must be Mike's friend before you can comment on this Fave.I've seen this sentiment:
a few times. I'm curious if they are referring to bogus friend requests, emails due to anonymous dotting, or something else?
My thoughts too. We should contact both these bloggers and find out exactly what they're talking about.
Perhaps one of our email paths is too aggressively sending notifications.
should i contact this blogger, or would you like to? no preference either way...just want to make sure we don't both send emails.
If it's anything like what I experience, then it's the spurious friend requests loaded with offers to send me pictures, asking me if I have a safe place to put their bazillion dollars, or trying to get me to friend their crummy splog. I think it may make sense to more tightly control WHO can send messages along with their friend requests, perhaps exposing that feature only to people who are linked to other members in good standing. If you sign up to the site in order to spam others, which people ARE doing, they should not be allowed to use Faves to send a personalized message. I think you'd cut down on a lot of that junk just by making it hard to do.
I'm glad I don't get more spurious friend requests, but I hate them all the same.
I'd like to see Faves add more weighting & control functions to friend requests:
* New users have a throttle control on their outgoing requests.
* Governor level spikes if other users begin to block their requests.
By the way - congratulations on the name change - Long live Faves!
Send Mike a friend request or a personal message instead.
