There are a lot of stakeholders in how the new 520 bridge will connect to I-5 on the west side of Lake Washington (the eastside connection is relatively straight forward).
The state has hired a mediator to hash out the issues and come to a consensus.

Mark's Letter to the Editor was published in the PI last week. He's "Pro-Tunnel". Interesting about financing options taken from his experience living in Chicago.

Seattle Average Daily Trafffic Flows. I'm trying to envision a world w/o the viaduct.

Interesting story that the state may have "buried" information in an internal report that had some positive things to say about the 4-lane tunnel viaduct replacement. Is this Gregoire's "Viaduct-Gate"? Probably not - but it smells bad.
A Fax of the report is referenced here:

Great story on a 3rd option for the Seattle viaduct replacement - a boulevard (4 to 6 lane road with interesections and pedestrian crossings). I LIKE it!

You must be Mike's friend before you can comment on this Fave. That would be convenient and scenic. I tire of driving across 520 all of the time.
Nice pic, matey.
