5 minute video of Blist - the "database for the rest of us" created by blist blog » Blog Archive » blist DEMO 08 Launch VideoKevin Merritt's Seattle startup.
Still seems like it looks very complex. I also am repulsed (is that too strong a word) by the "database is a spreadsheet" metaphor. Also not that this is a Rich Application - not a web site. I think that's a mistake as well.

The complexity is about equivalent to creating an Access database, with knowledge of tables, joins, views, reports, etc. all required.

Tutorial on ScreenCasting. I didn't know that Windows Media Encoder (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/) could be used to record a screencast (primitively). Having watched an informative screencast on revver, I wonder why there are not more people making demos available this way.
Wikipedia has a list of screencasting software:

Macromedia Captivate on the high end ($600) is something I've been meaning to try - especially since it targets Flash as the media format.

You must be Mike's friend before you can comment on this Fave.I am just shocked. The "world's easiest database" looks pretty complicated to me. It looks like it has some good functionality, but, from a usability perspective, it looks about a wash with Access to me. The database as a spreadsheet metaphor doesn't bother me as much, but the way it's implemented seems clunky.
I think there is plenty of room to improve upon Access, but this isn't it.
