mike | Shared With: Everyone - May 03 2008 | business cards, design, metalTechnical requirements for etching a metal business card. Summary:
- Cut outs OK
- Shapes that are smaller than a standard biz card OK.
- Avoid sharp corners (safety!)
- Avoid etching the edges (safety!)
- Front AND back etching at no extra cost (but should not overlap - or the etch will go all the way through).

You must be Mike's friend before you can comment on this Fave. There's a shop up your way that performs this type of specialty contract etching (supplier for Boeing). They'll do as little as a single sheet (3 to 4 square feet). Not terribly cheap, but not bad. Plus, you can have any thickness or material you want (Spring steel? Beryllium copper? Brass?). I suppose that's one of the advantages of living in an aerospace production center.
