I can now say it's time to upgrade to Firefox 3.01. The 3.0 release was VERY unstable (esp. if you were using Rescue Time). The 3.01 release has fixed these bugs and is working much better for me. I can run my somewhat brutal JavaScript test suite (for PageForest) w/o crashes and Firebug seems stable with this release too.

You can get older versions of Firebug here. I recommend NOT using 1.20b6 as it has a serious performance impact on using GMail. Grab 1.20b4 which is a much more stable release and works fine with GMail.
