I'm about half way through the book now. It's really good. I'm especially enjoying hearing about their delight at building Blue Boxes for making free phone calls.
Woz also set up the valley's first Dial-A-Joke line. It became an instant hit.
Woz wants nothing more than to be a great engineer. He takes pride in every design he does; and will spend hours to produce a more elegant design; even if he's got something that already works. I might call that being an "artist" more than an "engineer".
I got a chance to talk to him on his book tour here in Seattle. We exchanged biz cards (I got the better end of the deal scoring his metal cut-out card). I told him that we worked together at CES 1978; I helped behind the booth the first time Apple brought the Apple ][ to Las Vegas (and went gambling at night with Randy Wiggington).
