I wish I could get all of these reflective and affective metrics into one dashboard. I now have to visit several different sites or tools to get at all the data I should be looking at. Something that would pull in data from all these sources would be awesome:
- Analytics
- Adsense (revenue)
- Webmaster Tools
- Standard operational data (cpu, network, disk io, site probes, error logs, long queries, load factor)
- Custom operational data (user funnel conversions, purchases)
- Customer support (GetSatisfaction or UserVoice)
- Twitter mentions
- Blog, forum, and news mentions (Google Alerts)
- Industry keyword monitoring
- Competitor name monitoringWhew! I do all of these things regularly - it's "exhausting"!

Andy Sack and Chris Devore (both of Judy's Book) have created a $2M fund and co-working space for new internet founders. Very nice idea. I like the investment tie they are making between founders in the fund to get a pool of equity in each other's companies (I talked about doing this last year - but these guys are actually putting $ behind it).

I think it's a no-brainer for a young person if you can manage to get funded. But there's the rub - it's very difficult to get funded. So, if you keep your expenses really low, you might be able to do it. It will be a great learning experience - but don't expect to get rich (and don't raise money from people that have to get their money back!)
