    Ric Weiland: Obituary

I hadn't seen Ric for some time but crossed paths with him this year as he was a donor to the Aviation Learning Center (ALC) at the Museum of Flight. Ric made the gift from his father's estate, as his father had a love of flying.

Ric and I had a very nice talk during the MoF luncheon we both attended.

I'm very saddened to hear that now two long time Microsoft people died in a two week period (the other Jeff Harbers in a plane crash).

Quoted: After leaving Microsoft in 1988, Mr. Weiland gave much of his wealth and time to causes ranging from the Audubon Society and Stanford University, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering, to gay rights.
