    BlueDot.us - AboutUs

Wikipedia discourages "conflict of interest" edits, so I couldn't put more information about Blue Dot there. But About.Us seems to have no similar restriction - and in fact encourages companies to upload information about themselves here.

Here you'll find an up-to-date entry about Blue Dot, the company. If you have something to add - go ahead - it's a publicly available wiki.

Mike, This is a good overview of BlueDot even if we're not mentioned! Somehow I had missed all the buzz on the "Buzz" launch. I like the idea but am still clueless on how it grabs the top selections when there are so few sites with multiple Dots. If it depends on auto tagging we are in trouble since it is so generic. For instance I can dot almost anything about technology and the auto tag never shows "technology", it more often show something like "news".Unless I add the tag "technology" which is a pain, it will never show on the Buzz for technology. Any thoughts?

I wrote everything on this page. Feel free to edit as you like (it's open to the public - like Wikipedia).

Buzz does rely on users to supply tags. It's a self-reinforcing system - it a URL is dotted multiple times, it could potentially show up in any of the tags used by any of the users.

Each dot is scored depending on how many people dot the URL, how many click-throughs it receives, etc. We're still tweaking the algorithm so that we generally get a good flow of the best quality dots over time.
