Wikipedia discourages "conflict of interest" edits, so I couldn't put more information about Blue Dot there. But About.Us seems to have no similar restriction - and in fact encourages companies to upload information about themselves here.
Here you'll find an up-to-date entry about Blue Dot, the company. If you have something to add - go ahead - it's a publicly available wiki.

Nick Gonzalez of TechCrunch wrote a very nice review about our name change and new features. It's been some months in the planning and agonizing over a name change - it's nice to have it completed now.

Even though Blue Dot was not mentioned in the recent Readwrite/Web roundup, Blue Dot looks like a #2 amongst the non-delicious social bookmarking sites.
Blinklist displays the highest alexa reach (not quite double Blue Dot's). Followed by BlueDot, Ma.gnolia, Simpy, and far below, Furl (I expect Furl has many more users than represented here - the nature of their site probably generates lower Alexa rankings).
Blinklist looks to be on a descending curve, while Blue Dot caught up to and passed Ma.gnolia in August. Simpy seems to be just plugging along at the lower level that Blue Dot was at last spring.
If you click over to Page Views, you'll see an interesting phenomenon - the top 4 sites seem to be converging to the SAME number of page views, with BlinkLists' decline being the most dramatic.

I just noticed that YouTube shows you:
1. Number of videos you've watched (while logged in to your account).
2. The number of views your own uploaded videos have received.Mine are 544, and 11,385 respectively.
I calculate my Contribution-Ratio as: 20.9. What's yours? That would be a cool score to show on Blue Dot as well, I think.

We just passed a milestone in Blue Dot's history. I thought it a good time to share some of what we're learning about our user base.

We're now displaying your "Featured Dotter" score on Buzz pages. I'm currently # 1 in:
http://bluedot.us/buzz/javascript
http://bluedot.us/buzz/web%20development
http://bluedot.us/buzz/social
http://bluedot.us/buzz/bookmarks
http://bluedot.us/buzz/google
http://bluedot.us/buzz/search
http://bluedot.us/buzz/techcrunchand, or course:
http://bluedot.us/buzz/blue%20dot
(I am "head cheerleader", after all).
I think it would be a cool feature to add a "badge" to your profile when you become a Featured Dotter for a topic, or when you become the #1 Featured Dotter for a topic.

geek glue's blog has a wealth of comments on Blue Dot and social bookmarking. He's a fan and has some great observations about the utility his looking for in a bookmarking system.
BTW - love the tag cloud on this page - I gotta steal that for my blog(s)!

I missed this Blue Dot mention by SEOMoz. The post is not dated - but from the content I infer that it was October 2006.
Lists a sample of 30 useful Web 2.0 web site. Blue Dot is number 18 in the list.
Quoted: Optimum usage of Blue Dot would be to build a community of people in your industry and bookmark your content that they should be interested in, and that promotes what you have to offer.

You must be Mike's friend before you can comment on this Fave.Mike, This is a good overview of BlueDot even if we're not mentioned! Somehow I had missed all the buzz on the "Buzz" launch. I like the idea but am still clueless on how it grabs the top selections when there are so few sites with multiple Dots. If it depends on auto tagging we are in trouble since it is so generic. For instance I can dot almost anything about technology and the auto tag never shows "technology", it more often show something like "news".Unless I add the tag "technology" which is a pain, it will never show on the Buzz for technology. Any thoughts?
I wrote everything on this page. Feel free to edit as you like (it's open to the public - like Wikipedia).
Buzz does rely on users to supply tags. It's a self-reinforcing system - it a URL is dotted multiple times, it could potentially show up in any of the tags used by any of the users.
Each dot is scored depending on how many people dot the URL, how many click-throughs it receives, etc. We're still tweaking the algorithm so that we generally get a good flow of the best quality dots over time.
