Lebanese Red Cross

The Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) is a humanitarian organization established on July 9, 1945 as an independent national society. In 1946, it was recognized by the State as a public non profit organization and as an auxiliary team to the medical service Lebanese Army.

In 1947, the Lebanese Red Cross joined the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement -which has today affiliates in 175 countries- and became a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies ever since. This site has biographies of women who contributed to our culture in many different ways. There are writers, educators, scientists, heads of state, politicians, civil rights crusaders, artists, entertainers, and others. Some were alive hundreds of years ago and some are living today. We've heard of some of them, while many more have been ignored by history book writers. I'd like to acknowledge as many as I can.

Well milk may only be sold direct to consumers by registered milk production holdings (at the farm gate or in a farmhouse catering operation) or through milk roundsmen.(this is someone who delivers milk to your doorstep every day) Sales through other outlets have been banned since 1985 (although sales by the farmer at farmers markets are allowed);
Was 570 milk producers in 1997 now 102 in 2009.
In Scotland it is Banned ‘No person shall place on the market raw milk, or raw cream, intended for direct human consumption’. This extends the ban to include sheep, goats, buffalo and any other species farmed for its milk. Wales is similar to England and they all fall under the EU which states each country can do what they want

What, exactly, is raw milk? Well, that's a bit tricky to answer because there's an incredible amount of variation in the product.

Ideally, it's cow's milk taken straight from animals fed only fresh, organic, green grass, rapidly cooled to somewhere around 36-38 degrees F., and bottled. That's it. No processing, just filtration, and cooling. Most milk produced today undergoes some form of processing before it reaches the consumer.
